My name is Ashton-Lee Beney, a professional photographer residing in the eastern corner of Benoni in the city of gold, Johannesburg. Light is the language I speak and have learned to master and creatively control.
I obtained my BA Degree in Photography and Visual Communication in 2013. I studied right across the photography board and graduated with 3 distinctions. Some of the types of photography that I have learned to master include:
Various Lifestyle and Portrait Photography
Beauty and Fashion Photography
Advertising Photography and Design
Newborn and Family Photography
Wildlife and Landscape Photography is something that I have taught myself, driven by my passion and obsession for animals and the natural world. Being able to capture a unique moment in time of two animals interacting is an irreplaceable kind of adrenaline for me.
Throughout the Year I have been a finalist in the Getaway Magazine Gallery competition as well as then second place finalist in the Go! Magazines were an extreme honor. I was also a finalist in the Sunday Times Wildlife Photographer of the year 2014.
I am extremely passionate about capturing magical moments that often occur without the awareness that they are happening. I love to show people through my photography that beauty is everywhere.
